Hop, skip and jump to Camberwell Green

Come and celebrate Southwark's cultural and sporting diversity, as we raise the official Olympic 
flag and begin the countdown to the 2012 Olympics. The event will be held on August 24 2008 from 1pm to 5pm on Camberwell Green.
Events on the day include:
- the opening speech from the mayor of Southwark
- the unveiling of Southwark's brand new portable race track
- music from local musicians, including African drumming band Kakatsitsi
- screening of the official closing ceremony in Beijing, through two big screens in place on Camberwell Green
- Southwark community games athletes representing each community council area and local sporting heroes
