Camberwell Overview

From 2003 - 06, Neighbourhood Renewal invested in activities to tackle poor health, crime and anti-social behaviour, poor educational attainment, worklessness and poor environments. These activities were focussed on three 'priority neighbourhoods' in Camberwell: East Camberwell, West Camberwell and East Dulwich Estate / Champion Hill Estate.

Over the next two years (from April 2006) we will be working more broadly across Camberwell, but we will still concentrate our efforts on the areas which are in greatest need.

The emphasis over the two years will be on supporting local communities. We will be working with local voluntary groups and individuals to help local people gain better access to local services, and get them involved in volunteering.

We will also be working with local services (such as health and education services) to make sure that they are relevant and sensitive to local people and what they need.
The neighbourhood renewal plans for Camberwell for 2006-08 can be downloaded below. The plans have been approved by the Southwark Alliance.
