What's your story?

15 July 2009

What’s your story?            Young Southwark logo

We want to hear 1,000 stories about family life. Tell us yours and be part of the story of Southwark.

Young Southwark, the partnership of local agencies for children, young people and families, are organising storytelling events over the summer, so why not share your experiences and be part of the story of Southwark?

At a venue near you

We’re running Saturday afternoon events especially for parents, where we want to hear your stories about being a parent or caring for children in Southwark.

We’re holding four events in four corners of the borough. The first takes place on Saturday 25 July at 1st Place Children’s and Parents’ Centre, Chumleigh Gardens, Burgess Park SE5 0RN.

Come along at 1pm to tell us your story, and afterwards enjoy food and a performance from the Camberwell Choir until 4pm.

The event is your chance to influence our priorities for children, young people and families for the next three years – so come along and tell us your story.

A family affair

If you can’t make 1st Place on 25 July, why not come along to The Bread of Life Centre, Barry Road, just off Lordship Lane? It starts at 2pm on 19 September. There’ll be a crèche, food and entertainment too.

We’re also organising more events – each on a different theme about family life, such as schools, health or youth activities. For full listing details, go to www.southwark.gov.uk/youngsouthwark
