Southwark Alliance
The Southwark Alliance is the local strategic partnership for Southwark. Established in 2001, it exists to improve the lives of people in the borough. It does this by working with others to shape service provision and strengthen local communities.
The Alliance plays a crucial role in driving improvements across the whole borough. Through its neighbourhood renewal strategy, it allocates funds to revitalise less well-off neighbourhoods and works with many agencies, partnerships and community groups to meet its objectives. The vision of neighbourhood renewal is that in ten to 20 years' time, no one should be seriously disadvantaged by where they live. This means promoting better health, raising educational achievement, increasing job opportunities and providing a more pleasant, safer environment for all.
